Bond. James Bond

I am a HUUUUGE fan of James Bond. I only got into it because of Daniel Craig (I want to marry him, but who doesn't? :)) And so at school this semester I was taking a cinema class where we learn aaaaaalll about James Bond, and we watched like 15 of the films. Daniel Craig is still my favorite, but ANYWAY in the cinema building they were having a mini exhibit of some costumes and props from various James Bond films, and when I saw this tuxedo that Daniel ACTUALLY WORE I wanted to die!!

MMmm mmm mmm he is delicious. They also had two other women's costumes which were really beautiful.

Jane Seymour from "Live and Let Die" as Solitaire. She was sooo beautiful in this movie!

And then Halle Berry's dress from "Die Another Day".

This dress is a little tacky 90's for my taste, but the details on it are just beautiful.

I really wish they had one of Vesper's dresses from "Casino Royale" and I wish I could steal Daniel Craig's tuxedo But alas, no. This exhibit was really cool and I'm happy I finally remembered my camera before they take it down!

(sorry for the glare and reflections in the picture, the room is super bright and glassy with things everywhere so it was impossible to get a clear picture!)

Back in 2005 when I was on a trip in NY I was lucky enough to go see the Chanel Exhibit at the MET, and I just found this awesome poster that I bought there, which my mom framed for me.

The poster is AMAZING and I am so happy that I had the good sense to buy it since at the time I wasn't as in to Chanel as I am now.

There are all these sketches by Karl Lagerfeld and so here are some pictures I took of my favorite ones (sorry for the reflections and stuff)

It is just really an amazing piece and I only wish that I had a camera at the time so that I could have taken pictures of the actual exhibit, because from what I remember it was just beautiful.

Now I just need to find a place to hang it in my room!

Grey Days/I'm Baack!!

Ok after a month the horrible blogger is back! Too much school to do, but I only have 1 month left so now I think I can handle that and then I am out into the real world!

Today was the first day that it was actually COLD. And DARK! I was so happy this is my favorite weather. I just couldn't handle it being 85 degrees in November. I had to go down to school to see people who worked on James Bond QOS (like Marc Forster the director, the screenwriters, and Barbara Broccoli) unfortunately, there was no Daniel Craig but it was pretty fun anyway!

As I know my sister will be reading this yes, I stole your sweater again...whoops :)

I have been keeping an eye on this pair of shoes every since I saw them on Carolina from The Fashion Squad...I thought they were amazing, but I just didn't feel like paying full price since I knew that they would not get a TON of wear, just for certain occasions because I would feel too self conscious in them for everyday wear, you know? :)

Anyway, I saw other people wearing these Aldo ones, which really look exactly the same, and they were ON SALE at Amazon, but I was still waiting for them to go lower....but they never did :(

So lo and behold, I go and check the other day and THE BRONX SHOES ARE ON SALE!!! For even LESS than the Aldo ones! I could not believe it! So I quickly put them in my cart, but the little sign was blinking saying ONLY 2 LEFT IN STOCK!! And then it would switch and say 1 and then go back to 2...it was weird...

So I paid for them and i haven't received a shipping confirmation so I am hoping against all hope that I got one of the last pairs! Now they are completely sold out in my size, which is obvious because when those shoes are 46% off you don't expect them to last long!

So I am keeping my fingers crossed...I need these shoes!!

Where The Wild Things Are x Opening Ceremony

When I heard that Opening Ceremony was collaborating with the movie Where The Wild Things Are, I was pretty skeptical. I mean, have you seen the trailer? It looks awesome, but no fashion to be seen. Kind of outfit post! Actually more like shoe post-ish. This was from last week when I had my migraine and I was just kind of chilling and laying low.

I am still trying to decide if I like these shoes....I can't return then so I better like them! They were uber-on sale at Shopbop and I just wish they had them in an 8 instead of the 8.5 I got. I practically broke my ankle walking around in them but I think when I tighten the straps they fit waaaay better and I won't die.

Also, I am really into making jewelry lately and I saw that Carly over at Chic Steals did a DIY of the Tom Binns rhinestone earrings that I wanted to try. Here are the real ones:

I didn't follow her directions at all so mine came out a little different but I am very happy with the result! I had to change them up a few times but eventually I got them how I wanted.

Wow, it has been forever since I last posted!! It is not my fault, though, because I have been out with a migraine. It is weird, usually my migraines last one day, but this one just kept going and going no matter what I did. And I thought that was so odd...then I find out that my lovely mother tricked me into drinking DECAF coffee every morning, instead of my usual caffeinated kind (the good stuff), so my 5 day long migraine was due to lack of caffeine. Unfortunately, I am now weaned off of caffeine, and had some diet coke which then brought the headache back, so I must say good bye to my beloved:

But honestly, now I know what it must be like to detox from drugs or something. I literally thought I was going to die. I have had headaches almost every day since but they have been getting less intense, so hopefully by not drinking any caffeine they will be gone. But, as usual, my mother is the source of all my pain....

I am a complete sucker for anything miniature. That is why I was obsessed when Sephora came out with all of their sampler packs of different products. BUT, at $40 for about 6-8 samples, I didn't really feel like buying them. So imagine my joy when I was browsing Sephora.com (which I do on a regular basis haha) when I saw that the samplers were on sale for half their price! Instead of ordering online, I decided to check out my local Sephora because I wanted them right away instead of waiting a week, and picked up 2 of them:

They are AWESOME. There are so many cute little things in them, and at $20 TOTALLY worth the money.

This Perricone Skin Smoother alone is worth the $20 paid for one. The sample is a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and it will probably last for a few weeks.

And this cute organic blush is a really pretty gold-y color that makes your cheeks look so dewy.

And best of all, everything fits neatly into a nice small package!!

Project: Runway

Today was the Jillian Lewis RTW Spring 2010 show in NY, and since my friend works for the PR firm that put it on, he got to be there and I am super jealous, BUT I decided to write about it.

I was a big fan of Jillian when she was on PR a few season ago. I thought all of her designs were so beautiful, wearable, and feminine. It seems like she has continued along that vein with her new collection. Here is a taste of some of my favorite looks:

The LBD: Here is her beautiful version of the sheer black dress trend, and while this basic style has been seen before, I love the detail on the sides and think that this silhouette is gorgeous. (Btw, don't the model's shoes look exactly like the ones I wore here?)

Gone With The Wind

Happy Labor Day everyone!! Today my best friend C and I went out to lunch because we haven't seen each other in weeks and her birthday is in 3 days so I had to give her my present!

As you can see it was super super windy...which made the weather cooler FINALLY, but I had a tough time keeping my hair out of my face!

I'm wearing my new Twenty8Twelve shorts that I talked about that I ordered from Gilt. They finally came last week after about a month. I don't think it's really fair that they make you pay $12 for shipping and then you get it a month later...kind of a rip off if you ask me...but oh well, I love my shorts!

And how cute is C's hat?? I am obsessed with it and want one, but I think my head is too big sadly :(

Now I have to go finish up some homework for school tomorrow, have a great last few hours of the holiday weekend everyone!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Ok first off, let me apologize for my absence...the past two weeks have been CRAZY busy, with school starting and I was dogsitting and had no internet...it was ridiculous!

But now I am settled into my school routine (unfortunately) and can fully say that this semester will hopefully be pretty good! I love all my teachers and (most of) my classes.

Anyway, tonight was my mom's birthday and so my family and I all went out to dinner, and it was sooo hot that I needed to wear something comfortable. I didn't wear these shoes to dinner just because we were at a country club and I didn't feel like getting too dressy and wearing heels, but I just bought them last week and am IN LOVE.

Aren't they super cute??

I kind of want to wear them all the time.

I also do not know what has gotten in to me lately, but I have been shopping and spending money waaay more than usual. Maybe it's because I am working more so I like to treat myself, but I have bought three pairs of shoes in three weeks, which is usually unheard of for me! Now I have my eye on a pair of over the knee boots but I don't know if I want them in suede or leather...any suggestions?

I saw this Marc Jacobs necklace when I was checking out his website, and then I checked out the price...almost $1000!!!!! For some safety pins? I could not believe it!

So I decided to make one myself! And here's how it turned out...what do you think?

I'm pretty happy with it, basically the only thing I had to buy were a few more safety pins so I think all in all this maybe cost me 5 or 6 dollars...pretty good I think.

Pretty Things

I finally got to do a little shopping the other day and I bought a few cute things. First, I stopped at Zara and they had soooo many cute things I wanted to buy everything! But I had to show (some) self-control and only bought this blouse that I had had my eye on...

And this adorable skirt that was on sale for only $20!! I have been wanting a jean skirt alternative, and this is still denim but is just so cute with the little flowers.

They almost look hand-painted to me.

Then I picked up a few things from Nordstrom Rack. I hadn't been there in AGES, and now I remember why! I get so tempted to buy everything! I tried on the cutest outfit in the entire world but it was a bit too pricey for me, I wish I had taken a picture of it. A sparkly cream 3/4 coat with gold button and a little skirt hem from Juicy Couture and these gorgeous white pants from Tory Burch. I told myself if I return in two weeks and they are still there I will buy them because it was meant to be :)

Instead I just bought a little pajama set and some cute underwear from Juicy Couture. One thing that always gets me is the cute packaging--I can't resist!

DIY Embellished Leggings

Over the weekend I decided to try making some embellished leggings, and I am going to do two different pairs. Here is the first one that I did:

It took a pretty long time to do because I decided to hand sew everything onto the leggings because I didn't want any pulling. And then I had to cut up some of the braided part and weave the velvet ribbon through. So it basically took me about two days to do. But I LOVE how they turned out. I kind of want to try this on some thick black tights because I think that would look really cool.

American Girl

One thing I love about LA summers is that once the sun sets, it usually cools down significantly. None of those hot sticky nights where you are still sweating sitting outside. Being indoors, on the other hand, can still be hot, but oh well.

I finally decided to wear my bustier from Forever 21 and I wanted to dress it down so just wore it with some light skinny jeans and boots. I guess this outfit made me look really young for some reason because once it hit 10pm, this security guard came up and asked me how old I was. I guess there was a curfew or something and I didn't look older than 18 (I'm hoping it was 18 at least!). I usually never have problems with looking my age, I thought I always looked older than my 21 years but I guess not!

And I have come to the conclusion that I am probably the most unphotogenic person in the ENTIRE world. It is weird because I look good on film, but never in pictures!!

I was checking my email this morning and got my daily email from Gilt Groupe saying that they had a Twenty8Twelve sale. Now, normally I do not buy anything from Gilt, but I decided to check this one out and all the clothes were SOooo cute.

Not Falling Apart

Today I went to my godmother's birthday lunch at a country club and ate waaay too much! :) I kind of hate when I wear heels because I always tower over everyone and feel like a monster, and constantly get people coming up to me asking "How tall are you??". And then today I had the added questions of "Why are you wearing a bandaid on your cheek?" To which I had to explain a million times that I had stitches. So this was what I wore. It was a hot day, but when I left the house it was pretty dreary so I wore this little sweater over it. We were also inside so I never got really hot...

Ok so sorry for a lack of updates, but I had to get a little something done to my face and now I have to let it heal :( (I know very mysterious but it was no big deal). SO, since I have a giant bandage on my cheek, no outfit post BUT I will be writing about my absolute favorite actress in the world: KEIRA KNIGHTLEY!

No I know that a lot of people don't like her, but I think that she is the most beautiful woman in the entire world, and although sometimes she wears some...odd...outfits, I normally covet everything she wears. (Btw, I am only going to be using her daily life outfits, not premieres or anything).

I LOVE this bag and want it right now! I wish I could see this outfit a bit more because it just looks so casual and chic.

This is Keira with her bf Rupert Friend, and she wore this last year and I instantly wanted to buy that bag she has. It is the cutest thing. Have to go look around some vintage stores...

I LOVE THIS OUTFIT. That is all. It's perfect.

She got a lot of flack for wearing these pants but I actually think they look great on her. I am in love with all things high-waisted and these just work for me!

Sienna Miller

I have not always been a big fan of Sienna Miller as an actress, or as herself when she was dating Jude Law, but that was just out of pure jealousy... :). BUT she is very beautiful and I think that she always looks amazing. I think that she is one of those girls that can put on anything and still look fabulous and not like she is trying too hard.

I think this outfit it sooo cute, and I am in love with the yellow oxfords. This is the perfect menswear made feminine look that I completely adore. I really just want to go out and buy this outfit right now.

And this dress that she wore a few years ago (I think it's Marchesa but don't quote me) is just too cute. I love the length, the layers, and the little rosette detail. Absolutely beautiful.

This cute picture of her just out walking her dogs and she still looks great. I love the huge scarf and can't wait until it is winter so I can start wearing coats and stuff again!

And finally, this picture from the Edge of Love premiere (which is made even better because my girl-crush Keira Knightley is in it, but I will get on to her in a later post), I think Sienna looks fantastic. I LOVE the booties, love the dress, and love the cardigan. She just gives off a cool vibe.

Today was a beautiful, hot day so I decided to wear a cute dress that I haven't worn in a long time. I went down to the FIDM campus to see the Emmy costumes but we stupidly didn't check to see what day it opens-- July 29!! So we went down there for nothing, but I decided to take some pictures of my outfit on the beautiful campus.

I just bought this nail polish and I'm OBSESSED with it. It is OPI for Sephora and it is exactly the shade that I have been looking for for forever!!

I love this campus it's so gorgeous! Also, if any of you guys live in Los Angeles and want to try a new place, there is this DELICIOUS market/cafe called Bottega Louie on Grand Ave and it is so cute and amazing. I definitely recommend it.

The Ugly Truth

This is what I wore today to see "The Ugly Truth" with a friend. It was sooooo hot today, and I know I am wearing a long sleeved top, but it was really thin cotton so it wasn't too bad. And btw I just cut off the tops of my pictures because I decided to make a really stupid face for some reason...

Anyway, the movie was pretty good, there were a lot of funny moments, but I don't really like romantic comedies, because while they seem plausible, that stuff NEVER happens in real life. I have probably turned into a huge cynic since I started college, but people just never act like they do in the movies. No situation ever comes out with this happy perfect ending.

But I guess that is why they are just entertainment movies. Ahh sorry I am just complaining. I need to learn to hide my cynicism better because no one likes a cynic! Hahaha

Beauty's In The Eye of The Beholder

Normally I don't like to show people work that I do but I just wanted to share a charcoal drawing that I just finished for my art class. We had to copy a master artist and I picked a piece by Degas of the ballerina in a blue and white tutu. I am super proud of it and I actually think it came out really well. I am by no means a good draw-er or artist so I think this is pretty good for a beginner! (Sorry the angle is weird but it was in class and I couldn't get too good of a view)

Anyway, today since I am lounging in leggings and a tank (I did have summer school all day...) I decided to do a post on makeup. I am in LOVE with my makeup set-up. My mom made it for me for my birthday one year and it just makes me feel like a movie star! The lights around it light up, but they get really hot after a while so I normally leave them off.

Here are a few of my daily essentials:
The benefit tinted moisturizer is wonderful, but it is more like a concealer because it is sooo thick! Then the cargo blush is just the prettiest color and the smashbox powder is THE BEST I have found, but it is just sooo expensive! Then Maybelline's Lash Stiletto mascara is actually really nice! I think they are still having a buy one get one free thing at CVS.

And finally, I leave you with a picture of my little muffin. Isn't he so cute?!

I realize he looks kind of weird here but he likes to sleep on my bed and I just peered around and took a little picture in his face so I'm sure he wasn't very happy...

So lately I have been going shopping kind of a lot...it helps me get through summer school :)

I hit up the Sale on Sale at Urban Outfitters and picked up some cute sweaters for Fall but my FAVORITE thing is this:

How cute is it!! It was only $15 from Forever 21 and I can't wait to find something to wear it with...not quite sure yet but I will definitely find something!!

Here is a skirt I made a few months ago, but I haven't had a chance to wear it much. It's made out of heavy denim, and I'll admit I broke a few needles on my sewing machine making it! It did not come out EXACTLY as I had planned, but overall, I love it.

June Gloom

I don't really have much planned for today, maybe I will run in to town and do a couple of errands, but today is still pretty gloomy out. I can't believe this weather! I would love it even more if it was cold, but this gloom combined with weird heat and rain is confusing me so much.

I am on my second mug of coffee so far. Look at my mug, isn't it cool! It is one of those porcelain ones with the silicone lids that look like Starbucks cups. I got it at FIDM and I LOVE it.

And finally I have included a picture of my sleeping puppy (he's not really a puppy, I just call him that). For some reason he likes to sleep next to his bed, which is weird, but whatever, he's cute :)

Lazy Day

Today was another lazy day...since I do not have a real job yet, I basically just do nothing but sew all day, and occassionally venture out shopping or go on a walk. I have been working on a really cute romper, but I am stuck as to how I should make the top...but hopefully I can finish it soon and wear it!

I woke up soo late today! And the weather was still kind of gross looking, which is very weird for Southern California in May. I keep wanting to go to the beach, but is has been so dreary lately.

This outfit is very conservative and classy, I think. I love the high waisted paperbag jeans. They are my favorite, but many people think that they are weird so I don't wear them that much. Oh well.

Probably just going to laze around today and watch The Tudors on DVD. Love that show.

Current Obsessions: Volume 1

Every once in a while I am going to post some of the things that I currently LOVE. I have a very obsessive personality and tend to love things for a period of time and then move on to something else every few weeks. But some of these things have stood the test of time. One of them being:

1) Keira Knightley: I absolutely love this girl. I have loved her for years and think that she is the most beautiful woman in Hollywood. I also think she is one of the most glamourous, and was very disappointed to not see her in Glamour magazine's list of 50 Most Glamourous Women. She deserves number one in my opinion, and this is (part of) my shrine to her on my wall.

2) Prada eau d'Iris perfume: I go through obsessive phases with perfume and this is my current love. It smells so fresh and delicious and is perfect for hot summer days. And the bottle is gorgeous, too--plain and simple. Amazing.

3) Sparkly things: I LOVE this sparkly jewelry case that my friend gave me. This picture does not do it justice, because in person I literally cannot take my eyes off of it! Whenever I go into her store, there are tons of sparkly items from Deux Lux and I just want to buy them all!

And last but not least...

4) Chris Pine: Alright, so I will admit that I loved him even BEFORE Star Trek in Princess Diaries 2, but after seeing him as Captain Kirk my love has been renewed :) He is drop-dead handsome in this picture, and he is a wonderful actor. And guess what? In June I will be seeing him in person in the front row of his play that he is doing with Chris Noth. CAN'T WAIT.

Fun in the Sun

So basically it is VERY difficult for me to actually blog and post pictures due to the small fact that I currently do not own a camera...the only one I had was stolen from my house, which sucks, so hopefully I will get a new one soon. So for now, I am posting sporadically and using pictures taken on a friend's camera!

Yesterday I went to the Huntington Library in Pasadena and it was SOO beautiful. I had been there once when I was younger and wanted to go again, and I am very happy that I did. I decided to wear something summery and fun, that was definitely easy to wear all day!

Oh boy, I have so much to do this week! I hope that everyone had a great Easter, I sure did, I got to wear my new dress and ate waaaaay too much, but that's the point of Easter, right?

So now that the weather is getting warm, I am going to have to begin the transition into *shudder* summer clothes. I'm going to miss my coats and boots and tights :(

I decided to stay in the spring mood in this outfit with a cute flora corset top and coral sweater. And being outside which is a rare occurrence for me. Being in nature is wonderful, though, and it was such a beautiful day!
